Dearnford Lake Car Boot and Collectors Fair on Sunday 15th August will support Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes raises money for members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. The charity strives for 100% effectiveness in that for every £1 donated, £1 goes directly to help wounded servicemen and women. The running costs of the charity are funded by the sale of merchandise.

Jane Bebbington, owner of Dearnford Lake, said: "The sadness is that so many of these servicemen and women are young and just beginning their lives when they are wounded.   Help for Heroes assists them rehabilitate in a variety of ways.  They are currently funding the construction of four Personnel Recovery Centres and also the Quick Reaction Fund which provides money to upgrade and adapt an injured serviceman's home to enable him to live there.  It is a very special and worthwhile charity.  The more people we get attending the event, the greater the donation we can give.  It is also an ideal way to recycle quality items you no longer need, for house clearances, and for any collectors' pieces you may wish to cash in."

The event opens to stallholders to set up from 7.30am and gates open to the public at 8.30am.  It is strictly for car booters only.

Cost to stallholders is £8 per car, £10 for estate cars, 4x4s, and small vans/trailers and £12 for large trailers/vans.   Entry is £1 for adults, children free and parking is free.  Thistle Caterers will provide refreshments including hot sausage and bacon baps.

Dearnford Lake is situated just south of Whitchurch off the A41/A49/A525 bypass.  See www.dearnford.com for map/directions.
