The magical estate at Combermere provides a wonderfully tranquil setting to enjoy warm mellow sunny days with a kaleidoscope of colour in the beautiful parkland and gardens of this ancient privately-owned estate. Take woodland walks, swim in the lake, tennis and quiet evenings in this unspoilt habitat. Perhaps pop out to sample a pint and local home-made dishes in the local pub, The Combermere Arms, just yards away.

Located nearby are the historic towns of Chester, Nantwich and Shrewsbury, perfect for days out with attractions such as Chester Zoo, Cotebrook Shire Horse Farm, gastro pubs, local farmers markets, antiques, bookshops and individual and High Street boutiques, only a short drive away. Shopaholics can visit Cheshire Oaks outlet village.

Individually designed and decorated by owner Sarah Callander Beckett, the five star cottages, once the Abbey’s stables and coach house, are popular with couples, groups of friends and families alike. Dogs are also welcome.

Additional touches such as complimentary DVD library, dinner on arrival, wine in the fridge, local foods breakfast hamper, spa treatments, frozen meals and maid service allow guests to do as much or as little as they wish.

Midweek breaks from £378 for a cottage sleeping 4 – to £945 for our largest cottage, sleeping 10, from January through to December. During September and October 2013, midweek guests receive a complimentary breakfast hamper, packed with local farm produced goods, and preserves and juices from the estate’s orchards and fruit tree maze make for even better value!
