Get Snapping in Dudmaston Estate Photo Competition

16th May 2013

Get Snapping in Dudmaston Estate Photo Competition A local national trust property has recently launched its very first photographic competition and they are looking forward to getting everyone involved.

Dudmaston in Focus launched on the property on 1st May, and successful entrants will see their photographs turned both into images for a Dudmaston calendar for 2015 and be exhibited within the tea-room as part of the last exhibition of the season.  Winning images will also be used as choices for families to help remember a loved one in the property’s memorial book.

The competition is open to everyone, including children, although those under the age of 16 need parents’ permission to enter.  Entrants can submit as many images as they wish and are being asked to fit their images into four categories; ‘Hidden Heritage’; ‘Closer to Nature’; ‘Peace and Quiet’ and ‘Magic Moments’ which can be interpreted by the entrant in any way they choose.

Property Administrator, Nikki Hook said “this is a first for Dudmaston and we are really looking forward to seeing all the different images from entrants.  The Estate is wonderful, and covers such a diverse range of areas, that there is something to catch everyone’s attention.  We have been fortunate to gain the assistance of two fantastic judges for the competition; presenter and broadcaster Jim Hawkins and Bridgnorth Camera Club Chairman, Geoff Wilcox.  Both Geoff and Jim are really excited to be involved.”

The competition will run until 30th September and entry forms which contain all the terms and conditions can either be collected from Visitor Reception or downloaded via Dudmaston’s website  So why not get your camera out and getting snapping at Dudmaston.
