Horrific Halloween Extravaganza at Hawkstone Park

17th September 2012

A Shropshire tourist attraction is staging seven days of shocks to celebrate Halloween.

From Wednesday, October 24 to Wednesday, October 31 the historic Follies at Hawkstone Park in Weston-under-Redcastle will be transformed into a spooky ghost trail ready for those brave enough to explore it.

The Horrific Halloween Extravaganza culminates on the day itself with a torch-lit walk through the park that ends at the Follies, where everyone will watch a magnificent fireworks display while enjoying food and drink from a barbecue and bar.

Mary Whyte for Hawkstone Park Follies, is looking forward to the return of the Halloween festivities – but admits they are not for the faint-hearted.

“This will be our fourth year of Halloween with fireworks and it has proved to be very popular,” said Mary.

“The Follies caves are spookily dressed which makes for a very scary setting!

“The children’s Halloween which takes place during normal opening hours from October 24 to October 31, will have a ghost trail with clues for children to follow, ending in the caves.

“The fireworks show will be staged on the final night, after a torch-lit trail through the rest of the park, complete with barbecue and bar.”

Normal entry prices apply with an additional £1 charge for taking the ghost trail as part of the children’s Halloween event.

Tickets for the final night’s trail through the park, complete with fireworks, are priced at £10.

The trail will not start before 6pm and is not recommended for children under the age of nine. Torches and stout shoes are recommended. The park will have final entrance at 2pm on Wednesday, October 31, in order to allow time for the final night of festivities to be prepared.
