Ironbridge Gorge Museum's Charity Golf Day

20th July 2012

Golfers are invited to take part in a charity golf day which will raise vital funds for the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. The annual event takes place at Hawkstone Park on Wednesday, 3rd October. The competition welcomes teams of four players and is open to everyone. Individuals are also very welcome to take part.

Starting off with bacon sandwiches and hot drinks in the morning, there will also be pitching and putting, an 18-hole tournament and a delicious dinner in the evening with a prize presentation, raffle and an auction. All of which are included with the entry fee.

Trevor Williams, Chairman of the Trust’s Local Committee, who is organising the event said; “This is always a very popular day, which provides good company and entertainment. We would welcome businesses and other groups to enter and help us to raise money for the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.

“In the current economic climate, it is even more crucial to support the Trust so it can continue its charitable work in preserving the World Heritage Site, educating schoolchildren, attracting tourists and supporting the local economy.

“There is also the opportunity to sponsor a tee or a hole and if anybody would like to donate a raffle or auction prize that would also be fantastic.”

Team entry is £160 or individuals can take part for £45 per person. For more information about the event or to get an entry form, contact Ruth Brown, Fundraising Manager on 01952 435 900 or email
