The Dorothy Clive Garden is hosting ‘A Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ for both children and adults on Sunday 1st September 2013. The special fundraising event will start at 11am and continue until 5pm and all children who bring a Teddy Bear are admitted for free. Accompanying adults will be admitted at the special fundraising price of £3.50.

Dorothy Clive Garden to host popular Plant Hunters' Fair this weekend

The Dorothy Clive Garden will be hosting the popular Plant Hunters’ Fair on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August 2013. This special fund raising event, which is now in its seventh year will feature sixteen specialist nurseries with a national standing as well as small local plant growers.

A local National Trust property are turning back the clocks for the August Bank Holiday weekend at Dudmaston in order to remember Rachel, Lady Labouchere, the property’s last chatelaine’s birth and her uncle taking over the running of the estate.

The Apley Walled Gardens have recently been brought back into production for the first time in 50 years. They are now managed by our Head Gardener Phil Allen, who has started producing a large range of vegetables, many of which are unusual, old and interesting varieties.

These will include a plaque unveiled by Her Majesty in 1967.

BUILDING A NEW STORY AT WROXETER ROMAN CITY

The remains of many 2000 year old buildings still stand today, which is testament to the construction skills of the Romans. Visitors joining a series of special tours at Wroxeter Roman City this February and March will learn about the techniques and materials firsthand from one of the UK's most eminent scholars, Professor Dai Morgan Evans, as he guides them around the Roman building he designed at Wroxeter Roman City.

Telford & Wrekin’s Ironbridge Gorge has beaten off stiff competition to be the 2012 most highly recommended UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UK according to the TripAdvisor traveller community. It also takes second place in the world behind the Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace, Lhasa, China and ahead of the Egyptian Pyramids and India’s Taj Mahal.
